The Berkley Kitchen was created to bring the term ‘breaking bread’ to life. This family-orientated space took a segregated, dated kitchen and integrated the eating and cooking spaces into a bright modern entertaining space – a gallery for the senses.

Extensive structural work introduced vaulted ceilings and allowed perimeter triple glazed windows to be dropped in elevation acting as a backsplash creating dining views of the lush North Shore.

The introduction of a robust thermal envelope and panelized radiant floor heat bolstered energy efficiency. The insertion of skylights let an abundance of natural light in, even on the greyest of days.

Light wood tones add a sense of warmth to the contemporary monochromatic interiors, while the millwork came from the intention to add form and value to the home and the lifestyle of its inhabitants.

What was once a combination of disjointed spaces has now become the heart of the home.
