HAVAN’s “Build Homes, Not Barriers” campaign is created to inform and engage municipal candidates across Metro Vancouver, and to advocate on behalf of our members.
2026 Municipal Elections
With municipal elections being held across BC on October 17, 2026, there is no doubt that housing will be at the top of the list of issues that will be discussed on door-steps and at all-candidate debates.
Helping You Learn More About Housing
We have prepared customized backgrounders for candidates running for Mayor and Council in Lower Mainland municipalities. These are to help candidates learn more about the economic impacts of residential homebuilding in their municipality, to see if the community is meeting its housing targets, and to provide a scan of development cost charges across the region.
BUILD HOMES, NOT BARRIERS IN ...
Housing data by region is shared to help inform candidates and their constituents of their local housing landscape.
