HAVAN will be conducting a special presentation to the recipients of the HAVAN BCIT Scholarships, sponsored in part by Centra Cares.
The AGM portion of the agenda will involve presentation of HAVAN’s audited 2019-20 financial statements, approval of our membership fee schedule for 2019-20, and approval of the auditors.
PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration is mandatory (closes at midnight on April 7th). If you are unable to attend and are authorizing someone else to vote on your behalf, please print and sign this proxy form, and ensure your representative gives it to the HAVAN staff at registration. Larry Beasley, Former Co-Chief Planner for the City of Vancouver
LARRY BEASLEY is a senior Canadian city planner, urban designer, teacher, author and commentator.
He is the ‘Distinguished Practice’ Professor of Planning at the University of British Columbia, and founding principal of Beasley and Associates. For many years, he was the Co-Chief Planner for the City of Vancouver.
He sits on the Boards of TransLink in Metro Vancouver, the National Capital Commission in Ottawa, and the International Economic Advisory Board in Rotterdam.
Working in cities around the world, he has completed game-changing assignments in Abu Dhabi, Moscow, Dallas, and Scandinavia, as well as across Canada.
He has authored two popular books – “Vancouverism”, and, “Ecodesign for Cities and Suburbs”. He teaches extensively and his on-line course has had a world-wide reach.
Larry Beasley has received Honourary Doctorates from Simon Fraser University and Dalhousie University, as well as the Kevin Lynch Prize from MIT and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. In Vancouver, a building has been named in his honour.
He is a Member of the Order of Canada.
