Recognition reflects leadership, professionalism, and the industry’s role in delivering housing across British Columbia
The finalists of the 2026 CHBA BC Georgie Awards were announced today with HAVAN members earning an impressive 132 finalist nominations in 52 categories. The nominations recognize excellence in residential construction and renovation; interior design, merchandising, and landscaping; sales and marketing; special achievement; and the prestigious Grand Georgie Awards, reflecting the scale and professionalism of members’ work across British Columbia.
Looking ahead to our local awards, the 2026 HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence finalists will be announced on Thursday, March 12. The program also recognizes commitment to quality, professionalism, and accountability in new home construction, renovation, and design but at the regional level.
Recognition programs like the CHBA BC Georgie Awards and the HAVAN Awards serve an important purpose beyond celebration. They bring visibility to local companies and the people behind housing delivery, including the essential role played by suppliers, manufacturers, consultants, designers, and trades whose expertise and collaboration make successful housing projects possible. They highlight leadership and innovation. Most importantly, they reinforce public understanding of residential construction as a community-building industry, providing solutions to address consumers’ diverse housing needs, from rental and first-time homebuyer multi-family projects to industry-leading Net Zero homes and transformative full-scale renovations.
It is also a reminder that this work carries real economic weight. Construction accounts for about 10 percent of British Columbia’s GDP and supports approximately 200,000 jobs across direct and indirect employment. Together, builders, renovators, suppliers, manufacturers, consultants, and trades form a network of local businesses that strengthen communities, support supply chains, and contribute to long-term regional stability. This is why housing award programs are important.
Congratulations to all finalists and to the HAVAN members whose leadership and commitment continue to move the residential construction industry forward.
