HAVAN members and president recognized for their work at the 69th annual Canadian Home Builders’ Association Convention

The 69th annual Canadian Home Builders’ Association Convention, held last week in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, was the scene of much celebration by HAVAN members.
 
Four HAVAN members won National SAM Awards, sponsored by Schlage and Trane. The awards, which were presented Saturday night, recognize outstanding performance in new homes and renovation design, innovative technology and construction techniques, and outstanding marketing and sales activities.
 
Portrait Homes won the Community Development Award, recognizing excellent achievement in creating an attractive, exciting and innovative community (Silver Ridge).
 
Adera Development Corporation won the New Home Award for best multi-family project (zen, Salus Phase C & D).
 
Harald Koehn Construction won a Home Renovation Award in the Any Room category.
 
TQ Construction won a Home Renovation Award in the Addition category.
 
At the Association Awards breakfast on Sunday, Gary Friend of South Ridge Developments won the prestigious Gordon S. Shipp Award in recognition of leadership, dedication and continuous lengthy service to the CHBA at the national level.
 
Todd Senft of reVISION Custom Renovations and Michele Strawn of Excelsior Kitchens both were awarded CHBA Award of Honour certificates in recognition of their dedication and service to the association at the local level.

HAVAN President and CEO Peter Simpson was awarded the Dave Stupart Award of Honour, recognizing the highest level of dedication, professionalism and competence in association management. This is the first time this prestigious annual award was presented to the same individual twice.
