HOMEBUILDERS ASSOCIATION VANCOUVER (HAVAN) BUILDING MOUNTAIN OF COATS!
HAVAN’s 24th annual Coats for Kids campaign, in support of the Lower Mainland and Surrey Christmas Bureaus, two groups whose many initiatives help to provide a brighter winter for low-income families, will be opening doors to collect Coats for Kids from November 12 through to December 6.
Featuring HAVAN member companies providing 72 drop-off locations across 16 Metro Vancouver municipalities, people can donate new and gently used coats, scarves, gloves, blankets and new unwrapped toys and gifts for children of all ages.
To help amplify this great initiative, HAVAN member companies will gather to build and present one GIGANTIC heartwarming donation to the Lower Mainland and Surrey Christmas Bureaus on Friday, December 6th at Santa’s Workshop (aka Trail Appliances, 3388 Sweden Way, Richmond) from 8:30am to 10:30am, sponsored by Trail Appliances and Caesarstone Canada.
The Partita Choir, Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs will be arriving on ‘Santa’s Sleigh’ (provided by Wesgroup Equipment) to sing by the Christmas tree, while members and guests dropping off donations can enjoy Buddy’s Hot Breakfast Bar, sponsored by Tradesmen International and Falcon Homes, the Gingerbread Man’s Cookie Decoration Station sponsored by TQ Construction in partnership with Snow Cap; a Customizable Hot Chocolate Bar sponsored by Designs by KS, plus photos with Santa in the Sub Zero room, compliments of Miracon Development. Directional signs, courtesy of Surrey Digital will light the way.
Just like in Whoville, when HAVAN members and their communities direct a large amount of effort at a single point – mountains can be built – and moved! (Did we mention the Grinch and Max will be attending the Wrap Up Party too, with Santa’s Elves transporting donations, compliments of Dick’s Lumber and Port Coquitlam Building Supplies.)
The first 150 guests will be treated to mug-filled gifts, compliments of My House Design Build Team, Norburn Lighting & Bath Centre, and Nuvo Sales.
Clear out your family’s coats no longer in use, drop off your donations to one of the 72 convenient locations listed below, or swing by the Wrap Up party on December 6th and take in the festivities. The goal is to collect over 10,000 items to build a mountain of coats! Help us reach our goal!
