A fistful of Langley businesses are finalists in the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) Awards for Housing Excellence coming up this month. Celebrating the very best in new-home construction, renovations, and design projects, the HAVAN Awards spotlight the achievements of Metro Vancouver’s homebuilding industry, showcasing stunning custom-built homes and whole-home renovations, innovative multiplex and infill housing, and multi-family developments that continue to shape housing delivery across the region. Among the shortlist this year are Langley new home builders, renovators, and designers.

Thomas Markley of Markley Construction is a finalist in the best townhouse or condominium renovation (valued at less than $300,000) for the team’s work on the Home Reimagined project. Christy Simpson, owner of Centre Stage Interior Design, is potentially up for a few awards, too. She’s up for best renovation ($400,000 to $700,000) for the Wabi project, and up for best custom home ($2 to $3 million value) as well as the best new or renovated space – both for her work on the Cedar Grove project.
Speaking of design, Langley’s Marcon Construction (working with Richmond’s Jade Design Group) is shortlisted for the best interior designed display suite (in the multi-family home category) for the Ashton project. And Langley’s Mark Van Ek and his team at Venture Pacific Design + Build are shortlisted in two categories for their work on the Crescent Beach Revival project. They are finalists in the best kitchen renovation ($150,000-$175,000 in value), as well as the best renovation ($400,000 to $700,000 category). HAVAN Awards celebrate the very best in new-home construction, renovation, and design project within Metro Vancouver’s homebuilding industry, explained HAVAN CEO Wendy McNeil.
“The projects recognized this year demonstrate the extraordinary range of talent within Metro Vancouver’s homebuilding industry. A new category for 2026 features modular and prefabricated housing, reflecting how our members continue to innovate and adapt,” she said. “Approaches supported by building science and integrated design will play an important role in addressing our housing needs,” said McNeil, who noted that the finalists are selected by a peer-reviewed panel of award-winning builders, renovators, and designers from across Canada. Winners of the 17th annual HAVAN Awards will be announced at a gala on April 18, at The Westin Bayshore in Vancouver.
