Estítkw Place, a 55-unit development dedicated to offering supportive housing exclusively for Sḵwxwú7mesh Nation members, prioritizing those with disabilities, LGBTQ2SIA+ identities, individuals facing homelessness or at risk, and those dealing with mental health and substance abuse. The project emphasizes cultural engagement as a healing catalyst, aiming to mitigate the enduring effects of colonial policies through culturally rooted practices, land-based programming, and decolonization efforts. The housing complex includes 52 studios (6 accessible) and 3 accessible one-bedroom units, providing 2 cold meals and 1 hot meal daily. Staffed 24/7, the facility features a team comprising a Program Manager, Tenant Support Workers, Part-Time Tenant Support Workers, Kitchen Coordinator, and Building Service Worker—all trained to deliver culturally safe, compassionate care with expertise in anti-oppression and intersectionality. Hiy̓ám̓ Housing collaborates with external agencies for mental health, wellness, substance use, harm reduction, and medical services, while internal cooperation with Sḵwxwú7mesh Nation departments ensures seamless service delivery.
