Home buying video series offers expert advice to help leverage buying power.
Vancouver, BC: Buying a home can be challenging at the best of times, let alone the first time. Throw in a pandemic, and first-time homebuyers can use all the leverage they can get.
Recognizing the importance of understanding the local market, and the value it can bring to a first-time buyer, the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) has adapted the annual Home Buying 101 Forum, into as series of nine, 10-20-minute online videos.
Each video features a different industry expert you would expect to hear from at the Forum. Tips and resources shared include current market research, mortgage strategies, legal advice on alternative buying strategies to help you enter the market, as well as information from the experts, pointing to hot neighbourhoods and popular new housing forms.
Available to view for free, HAVAN CEO Ron Rapp noted ‘Vancouver has always been a challenging market to get a foot in the door. The pent up demand from lack of transactions in the spring due to the COVID shut down, historically-low interest rates, and taking advantage of the work from home options now being offered, make it somewhat of a seller’s market today, depending on the community and or housing form you are looking to buy. As a buyer, empowering yourself with market knowledge will help you to leverage your available resources.’
