B.C. continues to advance higher performance requirements under the BC Energy Step Code and the Zero Carbon Step Code. Most new homes in the province now need to meet performance levels equal to Step 3 for Part 9 buildings and Step 2 for Part 3 buildings. Provincial policy continues to advance higher performance requirements through the Energy Step Code and Zero Carbon Step Code, with a target for all new homes to reach Net Zero Ready performance by 2032.
These shifts are reshaping how the residential sector builds and plans future projects. HAVAN’s High-Performance Homebuilder Masterclass Series supports builders and industry partners as they adapt to these requirements.
Each mentor shares their path toward high-performance building and the adjustments they made across their business.
