Welcome to HAVAN’s High-Performance Builder Masterclass Series

As of May 1, 2023, the BC Building Code requires 20%-better energy efficiency for most new buildings in B.C. This is equivalent to Step 3 for Part 9 buildings and Step 2 for Part 3 buildings, with the goal for all new homes to be Net Zero Ready by 2032. As well, a new Zero Carbon Step Code is also available to local governments as a tool to incentivize or require new construction.*

This milestone in B.C.’s transition towards energy efficient and zero carbon new buildings will have a significant impact on how the residential building community constructs homes now and in the future. HAVAN’s High-Performance Homebuilder Masterclass Series is an online program intended to help builders and other homebuilding industry stakeholders navigate this change.

Each mentor will share their personal journey and provide invaluable insights on how they shifted their companies towards high-performance builds — challenges, successes, and failures. They will cover processes, technology, continuing education, trade connections, homeowner communications and more topics to help you prepare your homebuilding business for the future in high-performance construction.
