Mark Cooper, Chair
President, Shakespeare Homes and Renovations Inc.
Mark, a home construction contractor for over 20 years, is president of Shakespeare Homes & Renovations, incorporated in 1999.
He is a graduate of BCIT’s construction program and a Red Seal certified journeyman carpenter. Shakespeare Homes is a certified Built Green Canada member and a six-time HAVAN Ovation Award winner, including best top-end renovation and Renovator of the Year – Large Volume and a two time CHBA-BC Georgie Gold recipient.
A member of HAVAN since 2007, Mark has served one term as a HAVAN board director and three terms as vice-chair of our Renovation Council, is active in the Association’s seminars, training and other events, and also mentors newer construction companies. Mark serves on the municipal builders’ forum that develops directions for and reviews impacts of regulatory changes. He is cited in the news as an expert on home construction issues and has published numerous renovation advice columns. Mark has also recently been nominated as Business Person of the Year for the North Shore Chamber of Commerce.
Mark also had a successful career introducing a high-tech product to Fortune 500 companies before returning to construction in the early ’90s.
Shakespeare Homes is a member of North and West Vancouver chambers of commerce. Mark is active in community events, sponsors a youth soccer league providing soccer uniforms for over 750 players and coaches two teams. He is also a former fishing guide and remains an avid boater and outdoorsman. Mark and his wife live in North Vancouver and are raising their children in schools there.

After Graduating from Simon Fraser University in 1995, I joined KPMG Chartered Accountants. I was part of the Fraser Valley Office Team from 1995 to 2005 when I joined Centra Construction Group. During my time with KPMG, I gained insight and provided consulting, compliance, accounting, and tax advise to wide variety of clients including the following segments: Development; Construction; Manufacturing; Oil and Gas Public Companies; Non-Profits Sectors; and Agriculture.
In 2005, I joined Centra Construction Group as CFO and since then moved into operations as COO and now to my current position of President and CEO of the Centra Group. I have been a member of the Centra BOD since 2005. At Centra, we understand the importance of the Homebuilders Association Vancouver as we have multiple divisions that serve and participate in the new construction and renovation marketplace. Centra has a windows and exterior doors manufacturing division, a retail window renovation division, a new construction siding division, and multi-family restorations division.

Robert Griesdale, 1st Vice Chair
Blackfish Homes Ltd.
In high school, Rob got involved in the theatrical program construction department. It was this program that helped inspire him to renovate his family home after high school, which ignited his passion for building quality homes.
Starting as an interlocking bricklayer’s laborer, he worked through every aspect of residential construction to eventually become a lead carpenter for a custom homebuilder in Vancouver. His desire to put out the best projects using the latest energy efficient practices and green technologies lead him to realize that he could offer clients more.
Robert is a Director of Operations and a Journeyman carpenter. He uses his skills to oversee the day-to-day operations of some of Blackfish’s largest projects. He enjoys working closely with his clients and coordinating the staff, trades and suppliers to deliver his projects on time, on budget and beyond his client’s expectations.

Randy Chin, 2nd Vice Chair
Sales Manager Builder Development, RBC Financial
Randy Chin is the Sales Manager, Builder Development for British Columbia at RBC Royal Bank. In his role, Randy serves the builder community by helping their sales and marketing teams sell their homes faster and easier. In addition to working with over 240 Mortgage Specialists throughout the province, Randy and RBC take a holistic approach to business by strongly collaborating with internal partners from Private Banking, Commercial Real Estate and Group Banking. Randy brings over 27 years’ experience in retail banking, credit and leadership.
Randy has been an active member of HAVAN & CHBA for the past 5 years. He is a graduate of BCIT’s Operations Management program and alumnus of Toastmasters International. Spanning nearly three decades, Randy also has education and experience in strategic planning, negotiation, and sales.
Randy and his wife live in Langley raising their two children. He is a volunteer coach within the Langley Minor Hockey Association for the last 8 years and has previously volunteered for the Langley Hospital Foundation. Recently, you will find Randy competing in Tough Mudder events; and more importantly you will find him and his friends fundraising for Canuck Place via their grassroots annual event, “Pirates for Canuck Place”.
Larry Clay, Director

Larry Clay is the president of Clay Construction Inc. a luxury custom home builders specializing in building single family residences for high end clients. He is passionate about seeing the professionalism of builders and renovators improve in the construction industry. In addition, he loves building high performance buildings delivering efficient, healthy and comfortable homes. Larry specifically loves promoting HAVAN as the most credible and trustworthy voice in the Metro Vancouver area, educating builders/renovators and protecting consumers.
Last year Clay Construction won the Grand Georgie for Custom Builder customer satisfaction. In addition, they won the Fortis BC Efficiency in Action award in the Custom Builder division. They also won a national award for VisitAble Housing in the single detached homes division.
Lynn Harrison, Director
Principal, Harrison Marketing
Lynn is the principal of Harrison Marketing Resources Ltd. for the past 5 years, which provides branding strategy and marketing expertise to Builders and Renovators. She has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, holding various senior positions in ParkLane Homes, Townline Homes, Liberty Homes and Vesta Properties. Lynn has been actively involved in HAVAN since 1992 and continues to hold positions on the Board, various committees and task groups. She received the CHBA-BC Member of the Year 2014, President’s Award in 2004 and the Chair’s Award of Honour in 2012. She has contributed at the Board level for eight years, including the position of Chair for 2013-2014.
She holds a Bachelor of Science (Home Economics) degree from the University of Saskatchewan, a UBC Diploma in Sales and Marketing and the designation of CME (Certified Marketing Executive).
Lynn volunteered for over 15 years in Scouts Canada, both locally and nationally, and received the national Silver Acorn Award for especially distinguished service to Scouting in 1997.
Dan Glavind, Director
Sales Manager, Dick's Lumber & Building Supplies
Dan has spent the past three decades working throughout the Building Products Industry. In that time he has evolved to be a goal driven, results orientated Sales Leader and Professional Manager. He is well known for and has been recruited due to his Team Building, Reorganizational and Promotional Skills.
Born and raised in New Westminster, Dan has worked throughout North America namely Montreal, Philadelphia, Phoenix and now back to Vancouver. He has worked at all levels of the supply side, from manufacturing (Armstrong World Industries) to distributing (WG McMahon Canada) to subcontracting (BC Hardwood) and now back to distribution in his current role of Sales Manager for Dick’s Lumber and Building Supplies.
Throughout his career Dan has worked to improve the building products industry by dedicating his time to a variety of industry associations. He has been active in the BC Floor Covering Association (BCFCA & VIFCA), the Design Resource Association (DRA), the Healthcare Design Research Alliance (HDRA), the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI), US Green Building Council (USGBC) and now in Vancouver with HAVAN.
Dan not only believes in creating better communities through the structures we build but also through our community involvement. Through the years he has volunteered his time with groups such as Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, Kaboom, Easter Seals and Basketball BC.
Dave Deamer, Director
Vice President Construction, Polygon Homes Ltd.
Education: Graduate of Building Engineering Technology (Building Science) program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Experience: I have spent the last twelve years in a construction management role, currently as Vice President Construction for Polygon Homes Ltd. with a focus on the construction of multi-family residential projects throughout the Lower Mainland. My responsibilities include: review of design drawings, construction design input, initiating onsite construction, preparation and management of the project budgets and schedules, scope of work and tender preparation, tendering and procurement of trades, contract administration, construction monitoring and obtaining occupancy permits. Prior to this, I spent six and a half years as a Building Envelope Consultant with Morrison Hershfield Ltd., providing building envelope design reviews, on-site inspections of new construction projects, contract administration (owners representative) for large scale building envelope restoration projects as well as completing building envelope condition assessments of existing buildings.
Jason Wolfe, Director
Director, Energy Solutions (Marketing & Sales), FortisBC
Jason has been with FortisBC for 11 years, and is presently the Director of Energy Solutions and is responsible for the Marketing and Sales efforts of FortisBC. Key activities for 2014 and 2015 included LNG Market Development, LNG/CNG Natural Gas Vehicle Incentive Program, establishing a new customer attachment process as well as advancing the FortisBC Renewable Natural Gas program. The most recent initiative is the launching of the new Trade Ally Program to encourage the use of gas in homes and business.
Previously, Jason was responsible for FortisBC Market Development team; including the forecasting and resource planning departments. Prior to that, Jason was responsible for launching the FortisBC thermal energy business efforts with large commercial and institutional customers including schools municipalities and health authorities. Jason also spent four years in the Regulatory Affairs Department. Jason holds a Masters of Business Administration from Royal Roads University, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Calgary.

Gary Mertens is the Regional Vice President for Qualico Developments (Vancouver) Inc. Having worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, Gary is an active member of HAVAN.
Blake Ponuick, Director
COO, Preston Mobility
Blake, who currently Chairs HAVAN’s Golf Committee, and is on the Marketing and Communications Committee, has more than 25 years of executive management experience in roles such as President/CEO, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, VP of Sales and Marketing, and VP Corporate Development for private and public companies. His specialty has been in the areas of corporate development, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and brand management, sales and distribution strategies, and in developing and implementing growth strategies for early-stage, emerging or turn-around companies. He has extensive experience working with companies in the real estate, manufacturing, technology and wireless telecommunications industries – helping to develop them into market and category leaders. Blake served as vice president of marketing for a real estate syndication company which generated over $300 million in sales in 3 years, and has an interest in a real estate development company with projects throughout BC and Alberta.
As COO/CMO for Preston Mobility, Blake is responsible for overall operations, client services and marketing for the company. Preston Mobility has been recognized as the #1 Bell Mobility Business Dealer in Western Canada for the past 3 consecutive years. Preston Mobility is a HAVAN Affinity Partner, and was awarded HAVAN’s Corporate Member for the Year in 2014.
Jeff Bontkes, Director
CEO, Benchmark Homes Ltd.
Jeff Bontkes is the CEO of Benchmark Homes Ltd, a family run business specializing in single family home construction in the Fraser Valley. Over the last 20 years Benchmark has built over 750 homes in the lower mainland.
Born and raised in Langley, Jeff is dedicated to providing sustainable homes for families today and future generations. He started at an early age working on his dad’s constructions sites learning the different trades and eventually earned a business degree at Trinity Western University. Soon after graduating from Trinity, Jeff moved to Nanaimo to build house where he met his wife Lisa. They have two children, Linden 20 and Jayden 19.
In 1997, the family moved back to Langley to start building homes in the Fraser Valley. For the past 21 years Benchmark has created many great single-family communities.
Jeff and Lisa feel passionate about giving back to the local community. They are strong supporters of Nightshift ministries, UGM, Covenant House, Trinity Western, plus many more. They have also gone down to Haiti to build a school and church in the mountainous area of Marbial and continue to be actively involved with the school there.
Between work, church and family, Jeff finds time to sit on a couple of Boards for Charities and enjoys the outdoors. His hobbies include, spending time with family, mountain biking, skiing, and playing volleyball.
Alisa Aragon, Director
CEO, Bridgestone Financing Pros
Alisa is the founder and CEO of Bridgestone Financing Pros, offering personal and business funding solutions to individuals, families, builders, renovators and developers with large and small projects. She has an extensive and varied experience after working for 14 years with high profile companies, including Polygon Homes, Ledingham McAllister, The Quigg Group, Pinnacle International, Maverick Real Estate and Hollyburn Properties. In 2010, she moved into the financing arena as a licensed Mortgage Expert. She has been quoted in several publications, and is a past monthly contributor to the Real Estate Weekly (REW.ca) and the New Home Buyers Guide. She has been an expert panelist along with BC Housing, CMHC and Fortis. In addition, Alisa holds a Marketing Management Diploma from BCIT.
Alisa has been an active member of HAVAN for over 5 years. She is the current Chair of the Supplier’s Council, is the past Vice Chair of the Membership Committee and part of the Golf Committee. In addition, she volunteers at numerous HAVAN events. She has won Supplier Member of the Year 2016, Rooftooper of the Year – Supplier in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and Volunteer of the Year in 2014.
Alisa gives back to her community by teaching high school students all about financial literacy in the classroom.
Henri Belisle, Director

Henri Belisle is the President of TQ Construction, a family operated business founded over 3 decades ago by his father Ralph Belisle, who beyond his wildest dreams, grew the business on firm handshakes and knocking doors — building TQ from nothing into a nationally acclaimed company.

Long before achieving his Red Seal in carpentry at BCIT, Henri worked alongside his family in construction as a kid and developed an affinity for the design-build sector. While overseeing the day to day operations of the business, Henri is also Chair of HAVAN’s U-40 Committee, Secretary of HAVAN RenoCouncil and an enthusiastic volunteer and liaison to the Homebuilders Association Vancouver. Matt Robinson, Director
Owner, Monarch Floor & Window Coverings
Matt Robinson started Monarch Floor and Window Coverings in April 2008. The vision was to start a company that brought the showroom experience right to people’s homes and offices. With the focus on a higher level of customer service the company has experienced continuous growth with a large part due to work within HAVAN. Before starting Monarch Floor and Window Coverings he was the General Manager of Operations for Certa Pro Painters responsible for operations on the West coast of the US and Western Canada. This experience exposed him to a wide range of markets and business practices. Prior to that he was the General Manager for College Pro Painters in BC.
He is the past Chair of the U40 Committee and past Quarter Master of the Reno Council. Matt has won HAVAN’s Supplier of the Year Award for two separate years. Matt grew up in Gibson’s on the Sunshine Coast and has lived in different parts of Vancouver for the last 21 years. He has a degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia.
Andrew Delmonico, Director
Partner, Kuhn LLP
Andrew is a partner with Kuhn LLP. He has experience representing clients in a variety of litigation matters before the Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal of British Columbia. Andrew’s practice is primarily focused on business litigation, and he has assisted clients in resolving a broad range of issues, including those relating to contracts, construction, builders’ liens, employment, debt collection, and shareholder and partnership disputes. Andrew also assists clients in preparing and revising contracts, including drafting and advising on construction contracts and contracts of employment. Andrew has regularly written articles for publication in the field of construction law. Andrew has been a Board Member with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Fraser Valley, and is an instructor for the Construction Law course provided through the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of British Columbia. Andrew lives in Abbotsford with his wife and children.
