HAVAN Building the Region Speaker Series + Annual Election Meeting
With guest speaker Greg Moore.
Title of talk: BUILDING THE REGION: WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT?
On Wednesday, October 2, from 5:15 pm – 8:45 pm, HAVAN is hosting its Build the Region Speaker Series and Annual Election Meeting, sponsored by Federated Insurance, at the Riverway Golf Clubhouse in Burnaby.
Greg Moore Talks Challenges and Solutions to Build in this Region
This evening’s guest speaker is Greg Moore, co-founder at Livable Region Group of Companies, former Mayor of the City of Port Coquitlam, and current Acting President and CEO of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Greg will share experiences from all aspects of the development process: as a City Planner, Mayor and work in the private sector. This unique insight will shed light on the current development landscape in Metro Vancouver and provide the audience with ideas and strategies on how to succeed. This speaker’s program has been pre-approved for 0.5 CPD points.
HAVAN Annual Election Meeting
Following Mr. Moore’s presentation, the Annual Election Meeting will take place, where the proposed Slate of Officers for 2019/2020 will be up for membership approval. Click here to see the proposed slate. If you are unable to attend but would like to assign a proxy to vote on your behalf, download it here and send to HAVAN in advance of the meeting (email@example.com).
Association Awards of Excellence + Handshake Awards
The annual Association Awards of Excellence, recognizing members’ outstanding contributions to the Association, will be awarded.
For more than 18 years, the Handshake Awards have been awarded to builders, renovators and suppliers who do business with the most HAVAN members over the course of one year. Who will be this year’s recipients?
We’re proud of our HAVAN Heroes who are raising funds and participating in programs that give back to people in our communities. This evening, on behalf of our Heroes, we will be presenting three cheques with funds raised at three different HAVAN events: Guildford Park and Frank Hurt Secondary Schools (Parade of Homes), NightShift Ministries (Summer Social), and Easter Seals BC & Yukon (Drop Zone).
In case you didn’t know…
Until October 14, you can still DONATE HERE to the HAVAN Heroes team that braved the torrential rain and wind to rappel down 25 stories to support Easter Seals Drop Zone on September 12. We’ve already hit $22,494.80 (we’re the #2 fundraiser in Vancouver!) but we know that every dollar helps to support children, youth and adults with diverse abilities across BC and Yukon — let’s get those final donations in!
This event is for members and invited industry guests.
All HAVAN members are encouraged to attend.
