TOPIC: Builders Code Presentation and Panel Discussion

HAVAN Women’s Council is excited to announce our first online Café Series – a presentation and panel discussion of The Builders Code, an initiative of the Construction Workforce Equity Project which is generously funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training through the Canada-BC Labour Market Development Agreement (BC-LMDA) and the Sector Labour Market Partnerships Program (SLMP).

BC Builders Code – Together we’re building a construction industry that works for everyone.

The BC Builders Code is a province-wide initiative that aims to address and eliminate bullying, harassment and discrimination on all construction sites by establishing a standard code of conduct for workers. It defines an “Acceptable Worksite” as the starting point for reducing risk and ensuring a safe and productive environment for workers. Attracting and retaining employees, especially tradeswomen, is key to addressing the skills trade gap in the province and industry. The Builders Code offers a variety of complementary resources to support companies including, policiesadvisors and trainings. The first step is to sign the Builders Code pledge (using the referral code 860) to show that your company is committed to a welcoming and respectful worksite.

Join the HAVAN Women’s Council and our guest Adeline Huynh of the BC Builders Code for this free online Cafe Series event on August 26th from 11:30am to 1:00pm to discuss the ways all workers, especially women, can thrive in the construction industry.

The Women’s Council strives to Engage, Encourage and Empower women in the residential construction industry.
We look forward to meeting you!
