As one of HAVAN’s twelve active committees, the Government Relations Committee is highly engaged in identifying, researching and addressing issues related to development processes, financial fees and charges, implementation of new government policy and other issues impacting the residential homebuilding sector across Metro Vancouver and the Province of British Columbia.
Working in collaboration with CHBA BC, GR committee members and staff participate in numerous working groups, providing perspective and feedback on the development of new housing legislation, including evolving development finance charges, implementation of BC Energy Step Code and Zero Carbon Step Code, and the new Small-Scale, Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH) regulations as a few examples.
