Tell us about yourself & your company?
Ramon: I am the owner of Masana Stone. We design and produce fully custom precast concrete solutions, specializing in fireplace surrounds/mantels, mouldings, frames/arches, panels/tiles, furniture and more.
How did you get into the residential construction industry?
Ramon: My parents owned a company called Suquet Interiors, which I revived and morphed into Masana Stone. They were known for salvaging and importing an antique 200 year old facade from a building in Mexico City after it was partially demolished in the 1985 earthquake. You may recognize one of these original arches at the old Boboli store on South Granville. They were able to create over 100 moulds to reproduce these old-world elements in precast concrete. We continue to carry the same Suquet line of stone pieces today at Masana Stone to continue my parents legacy.
What keeps you in the industry?
Ramon: I have a strong passion for architecture and design. I love how every project is different and unique in it’s own way. It is very self-fulfilling seeing our projects begin as simple drawings and be transformed into reality.
