This farmhouse sink collection boasts versatile installation capabilities and provides the option of using same-size cabinetry to simplify the installation process.
BLANCO’s VINTERA farmhouse sink collection is a clean, contemporary version of the apron front sink style with versatile installation capabilities. The VINTERA collection is designed to fit into a standard base cabinet measuring the same width as the sink, eliminating the need for custom cabinetry common with apron front sinks – making kitchen renovations seamless for homebuilders.
Explore the differences between the undermount and flushmount installation.
Undermount
The undermount installation is a traditional, streamlined approach where the sink is installed below the countertop and the countertop edge is completely exposed. This is the preferred installation method by most homeowners, because there are no seams or creases around the sink for crumbs and liquids to settle. We always recommend a 1/8” reveal for the opening around our undermount sinks.
To undermount a VINTERA kitchen sink, you will need to verify the full height of the cabinet and double check the door height requirements. The VINTERA has a slim apron compared to most farmhouse sinks (6 ½”) however it’s important to ensure the doors will fit in the space below the apron. Cabinet preparation for same-size base cabinets includes removing the upper face frame and removing a portion of the gable in order to secure the undermount sink clips. Once the sink clips are anchored, rest the sink in place and clean the surfaces. Caulk the sink’s upper edges with silicone and secure the countertop on top. Screw the VINTERA into the sink clips, remove any excess residue and let sit 12 hours to ensure the sink is fully adhered.
If installing the VINTERA sink in a larger base cabinet, the cabinet should be no more than 3” larger than the size of the sink. Remove the face frame of cabinetry where the apron front will be exposed and install support beams on the inside of the cabinet. Caulk the sink’s upper edges and exposed cabinetry with silicone. Lastly, position the countertop on top of the sink and allow it to adhere for 12 hours.

Flushmount
Farmhouse sinks are typically fitted as undermounts, but the unique design of the VINTERA also allows for a seamless flushmount placement. This unique option visually showcases a beautiful rim of SILGRANIT® colour around the top of the sink and is flush with the countertop.
To install a VINTERA flushmount sink, verify the door height versus counter height, then determine the amount of countertop overhang. For the VINTERA sink, we recommend the sink protrudes 18mm from the cabinet.
Next is determining the required cutout dimensions of the flushmount installation. A very precise dimensional cutout is required with only a ½ mm tolerance. View the video below for more detailed measurements.
Wipe the countertop surface and top of the VINTERA sink clean. Install sink clamps underneath and clamp the sink to the bottom of the surface material from below. Screw sink clips into the clamps to secure the VINTERA in place.
Cabinet preparation for same-size base cabinets includes removing the face frame and upper portion of the end panels where the sink will sit. Place the sink in the cabinetry, apply silicone around the edges of the VINTERA, remove excess residue and let sit 12 hours.
