2024 HAVAN AWARDS FOR HOUSING EXCELLENCE FINALISTS REVEALED

Finalists of the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) Awards for Housing Excellence, presented by FortisBC, were revealed on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Vancouver’s The Gallery at Also The Kent.

Capturing the very best in new-home construction, renovation and design projects, the HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence places a spotlight on the accomplishments of Metro Vancouver’s homebuilding industry showcasing stunning custom-built homes and whole-home renovations, complete with state-of-the-art automation, luxurious primary suites, and breath-taking kitchens, plus premier multi-family production developments, townhomes, laneways, and multi-plex housing solutions.

The evolving landscape of housing legislation, particularly focused on multi-unit housing and the single-family lot to help address our housing crisis, offers new opportunities for homeowners. As regulations change, Ron Rapp, HAVAN CEO, emphasizes the importance of working with experienced professionals who stay abreast of the latest housing regulations and code requirements.

Rapp notes ‘it is crucial to work with knowledgeable, local builders as the proposed housing legislation is a bit of a moving goal post at the moment with the province still finalizing details, and the municipalities’ uneven adoption of these changes, and the energy-saving Step Code, from one jurisdiction to the next.’ He highlights the role of industry-leading builders with knowledgeable teams, stating, ‘No one person builds a home these days; it takes a team. We have the professionals to build the homes, and the HAVAN Awards program is an excellent resource for homeowners to connect with builders, renovators, designers, and industry professionals to help bring their next project to reality.’

As governments work on advancing housing solutions, categories like ‘Best Multiplex Development,’ ‘Best Multiplex Unit,’ and ‘Best New Small-Scale Home’ offer opportunities for homeowners to connect and source professionals recognized by the awards.

This year’s HAVAN Awards feature 154 builders, renovators, and designers competing in 60 categories. In its 15th year, the premier industry-recognized awards program employs a rigorous judging process, with finalists selected by a peer-reviewed panel of award-winning builders, renovators, and designers nationwide. Finalists and winners proudly display the HAVAN Awards symbol, providing homeowners with a recognizable mark of trusted, local builders and designers for added confidence.
