Burnaby developers, designers up for homebuilders’ awards

TQ Construction, Jedan Brothers Contracting and H.I.T. Quality Construction are some of the Burnaby firms up for HAVAN prizes for homebuilding excellence in 2023.

A number of Burnaby builders, developers and designers are up for awards this spring from the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN).

On Wednesday, March 13, the group revealed its finalists for excellence in new-home construction, renovation and design projects last year.

The accolades come as the provincial government is changing the housing landscape, especially for multi-family units, to address the housing crisis.

The 15th annual HAVAN event shortlist features 154 companies and leaders in 60 categories; the winners will be named May 4 in Vancouver.

Here are the Burnaby nominees and projects:

  • Best Kitchen Renovation: Under $100,000
    • Chill the Beach Out, H.I.T. Quality Construction
  • Best Kitchen Renovation: $100,000 – under $150,000
    • Hidden Haven Escape, Jedan Brothers Contracting (Burnaby) with Laura Grist Interior Design Inc. (Port Moody)
  • Best Kitchen Renovation: $150,000 – under $175,000
    • Poised to Party, Jedan Brothers Contracting (Burnaby) with Laura Grist Interior Design Inc. (Port Moody)
  • Best Bathroom Renovation: Under $50,000
    • Hidden Haven Too, Jedan Brothers Contracting (Burnaby) with Laura Grist Interior Design Inc. (Port Moody)
  • Best Bathroom Renovation: $50,000 and over
    • Greenhouse, Headland Construction Corporation (Vancouver) with Sofo Kitchens Ltd. (Port Coquitlam) and associate Beatty Floors (Burnaby)
  • Best Character Home Renovation
    • East Van, Elevated, TQ Construction
  • Best Townhouse/Condominum Renovation: $300,000 and over
    • It’s a Vibe, Rechsteiner Signature Homes (Burnaby) with My Design Agent (Vancouver)
  • Best Renovation: Under $400,000
    • Hidden Haven Too, Jedan Brothers Contracting (Burnaby) with Laura Grist Interior Design Inc. (Port Moody)
