VANCOUVER — Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) has announced the winners of the HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence.
The awards were given out on May 4 at the JW Marriott Parq Hotel in Vancouver and recognized excellence in new-home construction, renovation and design projects throughout Metro Vancouver.
“As our members collaborate with local and provincial governments to address housing challenges, these awards highlight the professionalism, expertise and creativity of our members,” HAVAN CEO Ron Rapp said in a statement.
He added the evaluation process was conducted by a panel of builders, renovators and designers from outside the Metro Vancouver region.
The 15th annual awards season received 455 entries from 154 builders and designers vying for 60 HAVAN awards, the release said.
Forty-two winners were announced, with highlights below.
- Best Multiplex Unit: Darkness and Light, Alair Homes Vancouver
Best Multiplex Development and Best New Kitchen: Multi-Family Production Home: Otto, Tera Development (Richmond) - Grand HAVAN Interior Designer of the Year: SGDI Sarah Gallop Design Inc. with six nominations and two wins
- Grand HAVAN Custom Builder of the Year: Naikoon Contracting with 11 nominations and four wins
- Grand HAVAN Residential Renovator of the Year: Tavan Developments with nine nominations, and seven wins
- GRAND HAVAN Best Residential Community: Multi-Family: Park Ridge Homes Inc. with five nominations and two wins for Fox and Aikins
- GRAND HAVAN Single-Family Home Builder of the Year: Miracon Development for Mirada Estates totalling 14 nominations with 10 wins
- GRAND HAVAN Multi-Family Home Builder of the Year: Zenterra Development Ltd. with nine nominations for Newbury, Camden, and Windsor projects, with a total of four wins.
