2021 HAVAN AWARDS FOR HOUSING EXCELLENCE FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
The Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) announced the Finalists of the 2021 HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence online, Thursday, March 11, 2021. Entrants and sponsors received their notices as an invitation to play the Finalists’ Reveal Trivia Game, a creative means to connect participants with the program’s sponsors and for the chance to win a Natural Gas BBQ, from Presenting Sponsor FortisBC, a SKY Helicopters Tour, hosted by Silver Sponsor Trail Appliances, plus gift cards and more.
Ron Rapp, HAVAN CEO said, ‘recognizing we are all feeling ‘zoomed out’ we thought a game could be a great way to get everyone excited for the awards and connected with our stakeholders, to whom we rely on to showcase our industry’s best. We want to inspire homeowners to work with award-winning builders and designers to help design and build it right, the first time.’ Winners of the trivia game are to be contacted Tuesday, March 16.
Rapp continued, ‘2021 has some amazing projects that reflect this past year’s trends of people adapting to life during a pandemic. Highlights this year include a custom-built Scandinavian-style farmhouse with clean, minimalist living; a weekend get-away home located in the Interior with wide open living space; a 25-foot passive house built on a 33-foot-wide city lot, plus renovated homes featuring luxurious master suites, state-of-the-art kitchens, intriguing home libraries (including one that is hidden), gyms to pump you up, and a tearoom to help calm you down.’
The HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence, presented by FortisBC, place a spotlight on the accomplishments of Metro Vancouver’s homebuilding industry. Capturing the best new-home construction, renovation and design projects in Metro Vancouver, the awards showcase breathtaking custom-built homes, laneway homes, whole home, townhome, and condo renovations, single and multi-family developments, outdoor living spaces, and the latest in high-performance building technology plus innovative housing choices to maximize the land you build on with affordable housing solutions.
This year, eighty builders have secured 184 finalist awards, and are now vying for the 56 category wins. A premier industry-recognized awards program, now in its 12th year, selects finalists through a rigorous judging process, by a peer-reviewed panel of award-winning builders, renovators, and designers from outside of the region.
