NEW CEO Announced

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that Wendy McNeil has been appointed as HAVAN’s Chief Executive Officer.

Wendy has been serving as our Acting CEO for the past 10 months and has been an integral part of HAVAN for over 23 years, helping to shape the association’s core pillars of marketing, education, and member engagement. Since stepping into the role of Acting CEO in mid-2024, she has led advocacy efforts on critical industry issues, ensuring HAVAN’s voice is heard on matters such as Development Cost Charges (DCCs), energy efficiency, and housing delivery.

Wendy’s leadership is driven by a deep passion for the residential construction industry and a commitment to the members she serves. Under her guidance, HAVAN has expanded its public and industry-facing initiatives, strengthened its educational programming, and championed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts to support workforce development and address labour shortages.

This appointment follows a rigorous executive search process led by MNP’s Executive Search and Recruitment team. We received an overwhelming response from highly qualified candidates, and MNP, alongside our selection committee, conducted a thorough and diligent assessment to ensure we identified the best leader for HAVAN’s future. At the conclusion of this extensive process, the committee unanimously agreed that Wendy was the right choice to guide HAVAN forward.

Before joining HAVAN in 2001, Wendy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UBC and a Diploma of Technology in Marketing Management (with honours) from BCIT. She brings a unique blend of strategic vision, project management expertise, and an innate ability to build collaborative networks that amplify HAVAN’s mission and impact.

Born and raised on the West Coast, Wendy grew up in Richmond and now resides in Surrey with her husband and two active sons. When she’s not championing the industry, she enjoys exploring local eateries, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.

Wendy’s vision, dedication, and passion for HAVAN’s mission will continue to drive our association’s success, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have in her new role. Please join us in congratulating Wendy as she officially steps into the position of CEO.

Sincerely,

Alisa Aragon-Lloyd, HAVAN Board Chair
