Multiple Tri-City designers and builders walked away with hardware at the 14th annual HAVAN Housing Excellence Awards last Saturday (April 22).
The annual night of awards recognized as many as 49 builders and designers who were awarded 54 prestigious awards.
“‘We are thrilled that 2023 marks 14 years of the HAVAN Awards, which have become an important program to showcase the accomplishments of our industry as builders, renovators and designers,” stated Ron Rapp, HAVAN CEO in a press release.
The awards also noted that participants in B.C.’s robust construction industry will have to adhere to B.C.’s new Step Code.
The Step Code is raising the bar for higher performance homes with advanced techniques and technologies, resulting in improved energy efficiencies, Rapp stated.
He said he hoped the work of the HAVAN award winners would continue to inspire industry leaders.
Among the dozens of builders, designers and contractors who received recognition were these Tri-City winners:
- Jedan Brothers Contracting (Coquitlam) with two awards
- Laura Grist Interior Design (Port Moody) with two awards
- Christophe Vaissade Designs Inc. (Port Coquitlam)
- Karly Kristina Design (Anmore) with two awards
- Marcraft Homes Ltd. (Port Coquitlam)
- Cynthia Florano Design (Coquitlam)
The award-winning projects are as follows:
- Best Kitchen Renovation ($100,000 – under $150,000) | Through The Looking Glass, Jedan Brothers Contracting (Coquitlam) with Laura Grist Interior Design Inc. (Port Moody)
- Best Renovation ($400,000 – under $700,000) | Wonderland, Jedan Brothers Contracting (Coquitlam) with Laura Grist Interior Design Inc. (Port Moody)
- Best Custom Home ($2 million – under $3 million) | French Chateau, Brickhouse Building Ltd. (Surrey) with Christophe Vaissade Designs Inc. (Port Coquitlam)
- Best Special Feature: New or Renovated (Design/Build categories) | Timeless Elegance, Crown Pacific Development Ltd. (Burnaby) with Karly Kristina Design (Anmore)
